Alzheimer's Treatment

Dr. M. Fiala, David Geflen School of Medicine, wrote that research found a form of Vitamin D called D3, and a chemical in the spice Turmeric, called curcumin, offer promise for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's. The study showed that combing the two helped stimulate the immune system to clear away destructive plaques in the brain that are a hallmark of the disease. He also said more studies are needed.

In previous blogs and Squidoo lenses, I've written about the healing powers of both Vitamin D and also of Turmeric. I also noted that it is suggested that patients undergoing chemo should not use Turmeric.

One other fact about Turmeric, if you have gallbladder problems, it's not advised that you use it.
